The Schools offers a platform where Research, Teaching and Creative Activities go hand in hand to enable students to become engaged critical thinkers.

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SoHSS) offers diverse areas of study and a unique undergraduate curriculum. The students through their courses feel inspired to develop valuable communication skills, explore culture and history, and learn to critically examine their society and the world.  At SoHSS, research, teaching and creative activities go hand in hand to enable students to become engaged critical thinkers.  The curriculum is designed to allow students to specialize in a particular subject while also studying and experimenting with a wide range of other elective subjects.

The School has seven departments: Art Design and Performing Arts, Communications, Economics, English, Education, History, International Relations and Governance Studies and Sociology. The School houses two Centers – The Center for Public Affairs and Critical Theory (C-PACT), and the Center for Emerging Societies. It offers degree programs at the Undergraduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral level. B.A. (Research) programs in English, History, Sociology; B.Sc. (Research) program in Economics; Masters’ in English and Economics, Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Film and Television; MFA in Visual Arts; Post-graduate Diploma in Theatre for Education, and Social Transformation (TEST) for working professionals; doctoral programs in the Department of English, Economics and Sociology.
